CREDITS 4 (LV) 6 (ECTS) - 60 Contact Hours

This course will provide an understanding of the establishment and functioning of the institutions and procedures of the European Union. The course will have a special focus on the legislative and judicial procedures, and on the effects of EU law within the Member States.

The course consists of lectures, seminars, a moot court and two in-class exams. Lectures in a particular topic will be followed by seminars in two groups (LB and LD), which aim at developing the students’ problem solving skills. For seminars students are expected to analyze and discuss real and fictional cases.
