CREDITS 2 (LV) 3 (ECTS) - 30 Contact Hours

The course aims at facilitating the use of language in the field of diplomacy and international relations. Students acquire rhetorical and discursive strategies in political communication used in domain-specific spoken and written genres on topical issues of foreign and domestic affairs. Authentic genres are analysed in their social and political context of communication by paying attention to their linguistic and paralinguistic nuances to enable students to become proficient in applying the language resources in their own speech and writing.
